The rules are simple...there's a hat, this hat is filled with many questions ranging from the personal to the off beat. We pass the hat, and artists gets a chance to answer the question they choose from said hat. Fun is had by all.
We recently sat down with Glasgow gem C Duncan. He had the pleasure of opening for legends elbow again on their US tour. With two albums and a Mercury prize under his belt, C Duncan certainly is on the road to many bright things ahead.

What were your first impressions of your band mates?
My first bandmate was my basset Lewis, so I was working in a cafe at the time and he used to come in for coffees. We always used to talk about music and I thought he was a really cool guy and I ended up getting him a job at my cafe then asked him to join my band.
Pick a new name, occupation, and hairstyle for your bandmates:
I think it would it quite cool if everyone had blonde hair. At the moment it’s Lewis, Liam, and Andrew. I’d give them names like Desmond, I’d call them all Desmond with blonde hair.
What is your favourite 90s show or 90s album?
Since we were just talking about Pearl Jam. I don’t know if I’d call it my favourite, but it’s fresh in my mind. I used to love (and still love) listening to Verses. It’s such a great record. Also 90's Bjork stuff.
What is your guilty pleasure song?
I’ve got a few guilty pleasure artists, which I listen to a lot of their music. One of them is ABBA, I love ABBA, just about every song is a winner. A bit of Carpenters, I always come back to “Rainy Days and Mondays” just for nostalgic reasons because my parents listened to a lot of that. I don’t really feel guilty about it.
What is your favorite city you’ve toured to?
Right now probably Philadelphia because I didn’t know what to expect since I’ve never been to Pennsylvania at all. Loads of people when I’ve said I’m touring here they’ve been raving about it. So I’ve been really excited since I didn’t know what it was going to be like. I’ve been walking around it today and there’s just so much to see. I went to an amazing donut shop, just loads of really cool things going on.
In Europe my favorite city is probably Gent or Brussels, somewhere in Belgium, I just love Belgium.
Do you have any tour souvenirs?
I’ve got a few things, like I always do vinyl swaps with the bands I tour with or support. Last time I was on tour with Elbow they gave me a signed poster so that was really nice. Souvenirs I tend to buy myself…I tend to buy myself a lot of clothes on tour cause I run out of clothes.
What do you do to pass the time on the road?
We do a variety of things. We play a lot of computer games, quite often in the vans we have tvs so we can plug in a playstation, or I just got a Nintendo switch so I’ve been playing a lot of that. We spend a lot of time just talking, its weird we don’t get bored of each other’s company after weeks of touring around we still have stuff to talk about. The other guys in the band a surreal sense of humour so we basically talk nonsense.
What is your favorite thing about Philly?
Well I love this venue, The Fillmore, is great. The people seem really friendly. I got a haircut, they did a really good job so well done. Just the buildings and the general feel. I like a lot of the roads aren’t too wide like in other American cities. You don’t feel like you’re in this vast place, it’s very comfortable feeling.
What is the coolest venue you’ve ever played?
We’ve played a lot of cool churches in France, but the coolest venue was probably in Astonia there’s this old chemical factory which they’ve turned into a venue. I’m a big Tarkovsky fan and one of his films he used it as the set, a film called “Stalker”. It’s this big brick building with loads of really weird staircases and just very industrial.
